SUMMER EXHIBITION

THE STORY OF THE PÄRNU ELEPHANT

20.06-20.08.2026

In recent years, the elephant symbolising happiness has become a symbol of Pärnu and an integral part of the urban space almost by itself. Why is that? Is there a story behind it?
The answer is ‘yes’. Pärnu has indeed developed a special bond with elephants and there is more than one story behind it.

Tourist Information Pop-up in Pärnu Museum features a display exhibition that introduces the stories of the Pärnu elephant in five languages, also helping to navigate the paths of modern city elephants.

Visiting the exhibition is free of charge.
